Postcards from Middle Age

So MozzyMr and I were rained off the allotment and decided to make use of the National Trust cards MoMa and MoPa bought us for Christmas.  We went to Castle Drogo, the last castle built in England.  Such an amazing building, the kitchen area was my favourite bit of the house; the plate racks above the wooden sinks, the jelly moulds and circular work island all looked so impressive.  Here are a few snapshots from our visit.  (Obligatory tea and cake were consumed.)

  1. We have NT cards too and Drogo is on my list. You were allowed to take pics or did you hide camera up your sleeve? Did the grounds look nice out the window?

    1. Pics were allowed but you're not allowed to use a flash, considering the light levels are pretty low this proved a little tricky, hence these photos are quite as good as I would like. We went on Monday and it was blowing a gale and tipping it down so to be honest with you we didn't hang about to appreciate the view but what I did see of it was amazing!
