Life lately

I've been MIA of late.  Life is busy, but life is good so I don't mind it being busy, here is a little of what I have been up to:

1. Hanging out with this muppet
2. Mewster's new trick is to stand on our shoulders as we walk about the house, parrot cat!
3. Mewster obsessed much?  If there is a box to explore she'll be there.
4. Robo feeder broke for our last weekend trip so we just had to pile Mew's bowl high and hope she didn't eat it all at once (she didn't, good cat).
5. So much growth happening at the allotment, so much to do before we go away to San Diego eeeeeep!
6. As you can see there is still ALOT of digging grass out to be done at the plot :/
7. Sometimes after a shitty day the only thing that will make it better is gin.
8. Disney cake made by friend Katrina for other friend Marte who left work to return to her native Norway
9. To send her off in style we wrapped her whole desk in tinfoil, including the contents of her desk, our boss was PISSED about it.

Life lately

  1. Buying daft robots that I would secretly like to own...
  2. Happily this little chap loved the robot! We got to hang out with him on our friends allotment in Birmingham on a sunny, warm spring day - lush.
  3. The new Birmingham Library exterior, pretty impressive.
  4. Graffiti next to the Birmingham Art Gallery where we saw the AMAZING Grayson Perry exhibition of tapestries.
  5. Monday saw me pegging it to London whilst MozzyMr drove home in the opposite direction.  Adventures abound in the capital, this one being the first creature I stumbled upon at the Natural History Museum.
  6. A very pop art display on lobster mites... lovely.
  7. DINOSAURS!!!
  8. Heuheuheuh whilst in London I took the opportunity to see The Drowned Man again (fifth visit).  I know I say this of every single visit but it really was the best performance I had seen so far I can't wait to go back at the end of the month.
  9. I am loving netball at the moment.  I'm a bit too competitive and push myself too far, I've already had a twisted ankle, pulled a calf muscle and been called out for more penalties than I care to remember the most comedy one being where I pushed a player out of my way with my bum.  I was mocked with much twerking whilst I stood aside for the penalty.

5. Mewster selfie using the Catsnaps app!
6. Mewster (again!) snuggling into a sleeping bag, forgetting her tongue is hanging out
7. Buying special trainer socks and being perturbed that they have 'L' and 'R' embroidered into them...
8. These have seen some hard graft recently, I will be beach ready, I will be beach ready!
9. Pulling a calf muscle badly enough I had to hobble about like a pirate for five days. Le Sigh.

Life lately

Disneyland of course!! // the best souvenir from Paris, a fish stapler, awww yeah // whilst exploring Paris we spotted this little fella in his nest, "He's so fluffy!" // MozzyMr: photographer extraordinaire! // foliage that caught my eye // sunflowers from MoMa cheering the place up // French bee and bug hotel // tomato sauce production is now in full swing we should have supplies to see us through winter // Grrrrr (or yawn)

Writing a blog, it seemed inevitable that I would have to take a selfie in a bathroom at some point it might as well be now*eye roll* // my lovely fern which is affectionately referred to as the muppet plant // we've been experiencing some amazing sunsets around these parts recently, of course photos never do them justice but I like to capture them anyway! // foraging! // blackberries for our bramble jelly // feed me feed me feed me says cat.  Vet says she's getting tubby and needs to go on the diet food // a lovely amber necklace that my father-in-law gave me recently, I've barely taken it off since, I love it! // a friendly and very tame racing pigeon has taken to hanging out on campus recently, he joins us for coffee and just sits nearby enjoying the sunshine // cat slippers and blankets have become my new Friday night favourite, wow life has changed recently!

MozzyMr's bike finally broke (the forks snapped off the main frame, thankfully Moz wasn't riding it at the time or he may have had a very mangled face.  We went to a bike superstore last weekend and came across this beauty, amazing neon colours and only £50 sadly I couldn't persuade Moz to buy it // nor could I persuade him to buy the bike labelled 'bit retro' // Monday's harvest of tomatoes // a new kitchen timer to add to our ever growing collection // the apples on our tree at the allotment look beautiful at the moment, sadly they aren't very sweet.  To make our apple crumbles palatable I have to add A LOT of golden syrup, mmm golden syrup // a parsnip top!  Last year I didn't realise parsnips took an age to germinate and dug over the ground I had planted them in, this year I didn't make the same mistake.  Only 11 have come up (I planted three rows) but 11 is better than none and next year I might perfect the technique further // Thursday's harvest of tomatoes!  MozzyMr has done a great job this year //  a stripy pumpkin, or at least we think it is a pumpkin, the plant label either got blown away or a sneaky bird stole it.  It's probably a squash but I am really hoping it's a pumpkin // more sunsets they're so beautiful but might be a sign that autumn is on it's way?

Life lately

  • Working from home... in the garden... in the blazing heat... with my feet in a trug of water.
  • Growing sunflowers, the seeds for this flower were taken from the seeds of the flowers at our wedding, we're hoping to keep the line going!
  • Weirdness found in Sidford near the seaside town of Sidmouth.
  • Buying cute things for a cute baby who has a cute mum and dad!
  • Gin, ice, lemon, cucumber.  Back when the sun was shining and we were experiencing summer... oh how those days are missed.
  • Watching the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games on the one year anniversary.  This was one of the many, many awesome moments and one of my favourites, in case you can't make it out from this tiny photo they are the pigeons!  Amazing, I cannot believe the games were a year ago.
  • Mewster, this is the face she pulls every time I leave for work, little does she know that I don't want me to go to work either.
  • Hot hot hot!  36 degree celsius!  I wonder if we'll get such fantastic weather again before autumn sets in?
  • Discovering some of MozzyMr's collections hidden away at the back of a drawer.

  • Eating homemade jam on homemade bread is a very happy thing!
  • The first of the chillies are coming along, everything this year seems to be taking a lot longer to mature, which is a little odd as the weather has been so much warmer..?
  • This idiot being too cute.
  • Growing monster tomatoes!  This year we have been striping back the foliage on the tomatoes quite dramatically and the plants seem to be responding by making extra large fruit, thanks for the tip Monty.
  • Buying ridiculous things at the car boot sale for Mewster.  Even if Mew doesn't like her disgruntled hamster water bowl we think it's amazing!
  • Letting things go to seed just because they're pretty.
  • Celebrating our two year wedding anniversary in style.  Both of us are absolutely shattered at the moment the thought of going out was too tiring so MozzyMr made a nice dinner and I made the drinks :)
  • Growing lots of basil to feed my current homemade pesto obsession!
  • Texture on the gates to the allotment.  I hadn't noticed the patterns on the metal before but I notice them every time I pass them now.
