Yes actually, I will throw my toys out of the pram, and no I haven't found my shorts yet.

This week I have mostly been grumpy.  Which is wrong so near to getting married, but... the house is a mess, I veg pealed off a chunk of my nail that had just been manicured, we haven't sorted the music for the wedding, we haven't ordered the alcohol, I have to clean said messy house from top to bottom in preparation of impending relative invasion, and (!) I can't find my god damn shorts.  The house has eaten them and it's really annoying me.  So imagine me with the following look on my face:

It's mostly my fault the house is messy, I have unfinished craft projects all over the house:

and the allotment is taking up a lot of our time, with it being so dry my lovely plants are thirsty, the bounty is good though:

and to be fair I have finished the children's colouring-in books:

and Sam has finished the blackberry vodka, which is so so tasty, and therefore very dangerous!

My Lovely Menagerie

Let me tell you about my weekend.  It started with a half day's holiday on Friday, where I met Stoat and because I needed to shop for my niece's birthday present we encountered a 7ft Hagrid:

Stoat got a little over excited about the mega Sylvaninan Family rabbit:

Then on Saturday we embarked on my low key, and very awesome hen do, where in Make Art I made a lovely horse:

Ruthie went for a lovely stegosaurus:

Charlie a very lovely dinosaur:

Sadly I don't have a picture of Anne's lovely flip flop, but together we made quite the lovely menagerie.  There was another hen do at Make Art, they were dressed as superheroes, I feel I got a glimpse through the looking glass that night.  After much gin drinking and discussion about the Queen's tights the night ended.  And today I have gin head, I haven't been able to do much, just nice gentle activities like hand sewing banners for the Bar and Cake Table (note capital letters):

Still a way to go before they're finished but the hair of the dog wine is helping.

We've been making this...

On Saturday in my last post I mentioned I was off to a colleague's house to have a bit of a bunting session, well here are a few photos of the fab-o bunting we made (special mention to Joy who went above and beyond the call of duty and made tonnes of bunting before she even arrived, love it, very much appreciated!):

The finished article:

The setup (third machine added shortly after this photo was taken):

The bunting Joy had already made for me:

And just because I forgot to photograph this last Sunday after the car boot sale here is the super, awesome, kitsch, ace bags plastic holly wreath I found for 50p, everyone else hates it but it brings me comfort and joy, comfort and joy oooo comfoooort and joooy:

Before I head off for the evening, I wanted to say a massive thank you to those of you who came and made bunting for my wedding, you know who you are and I think you're very ace :)

Uptight, uptight, stressy thing

Well what can I say?  Today is a low.  I always knew this wedding lark would be stressful but never knew how much it could tear such a deep chunk out of us both.  On the positive side only two weeks until my holiday starts and I can hopefully rest up and get my strength back.  The last few weekends have been packed, trips to Bristol and London, and the next are looking pretty busy as well but that's all part of it, and I've been told feeling like this is normal.  To be frank I just want it to be over now!

But this isn't the place to whine on about things that I can't change, this is the place to wibble on about veg and making things.  The allotment has finally started kicking off:

The sunflowers are coming out (not all of them thankfully, hopefully we'll have some fresh blooms for the day!)

We've got more lettuce than we know what to do with!

And the flowers I've grown from seed are coming along nicely, the sweet peas look amazing and I've let the coriander and thyme go to seed so I can get some fab smelling foliage into the floral mix so to speak.

A couple of weekends ago we were up in London for the final fitting and collection of my wedding dress, expertly made by my soon to be sister-in-law, the girls bridesmaids dresses were also complete and super twirly which has gone down a storm, but what nail varnish colour to have??  (I suspect pink).

Right-o I'm off today to handover studio admin to someone else so I never need be involved in the stressful studio admin again, and might actually have time to do artwork hazaar!  Then off to my colleague Anne's for a bunting session (photos to follow!).
